Stained Glass & Glass Cleaning
Accessing and careful in-situ cleaning of stained glass using appropriate techniques and materials. Access and in-situ cleaning of leaded lights.
Traditional Leaded Glazing
Sometimes stained glass and leaded lights require little more than partially or fully re-leading; the stripping of the old lead matrix and its replacement with new. We use commercially milled leads to match existing profiles as closely as possible.
Environmental Protection and Physical Protection
Where glass is suffering from corrosion or paint-loss we can advise on, design, manufacture and install Environmental Protective Glazing (EPG or Isothermal Glazing) that is appropriate to the glass and its setting. We supply and fix wire guards.
Reports and Consultancy
Single window surveys to produce an in-depth report, following ChurchCare guidelines and suitable for funding applications. General surveys to produce condition reports on a scheme of glazing to assist with prioritising and costing future maintenance/repairs. Condition records suitable for archiving and pre and post-conservation reports.
Treatment of Ferramenta, bars and casements
As well as the glazing itself, we carry out work to associated fabric: tipping and decoration of ferramenta, tipping or replacement of bars, refurbishment of casements, stone pinning and mortar repairs.
Custom Lightboxes
We produce custom LED light boxes for the display of stained glass.
